The score, time limit and extra lives are gone (except for in the clock levels for the time limit and hard mode for the extra lives), instead you lose 10 coins when you lose a life. Said bosses also have their own unique gimmicks and take either 5 to 10 hits to defeat. Plus, the bosses and mid bosses of each world are powered up by Kamek, similar to Yoshi's Island. The number of worlds has expanded from 9 to 15. This was done to address the complaints given to the 2.5D style of the New Super Mario Bros. The graphical style here gains a major overhaul, looking like the Super Mario 3D World style from Super Mario Maker 2. The ability to power squat jump from Super Mario Bros. fare, but now the characters can star spin like in the Super Mario Galaxy duology, dive just like in a few of the 3D Mario games and punch and kick just like in Super Mario 64. The moves here are your typical New Super Mario Bros. Each world has an enemy course just like in Super Mario Bros. Gameplay: The gameplay has the same world structure as Super Mario World and Super Mario Land 2 where all the maps are interconnected with one another, and you could go in any order you want.
